To all parents at East Side: Please take a moment to take the 24 question Georgia Parent Survey. The data will be used as part of the calculation of East Side’s Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous, self-reported, and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Thank you in advance for completing this important survey. Happy Tuesday!! I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend!! We have had a busy few weeks in third grade. We enjoyed our STEM day where they students were to create a bird with a special beak depending on where the bird lived and what it ate. We have some creative students!! I was super impressed with their creations.
We recieved our BRAND NEW IPADS FROM THE FOUNDATION!!!! THANK YOU to each and every one of you who donated this year as their "big project" was to do a technology refresh! We can't wait to start using these this week!!! This will give us more devices in our classroom and give each student the opportunity to deepen their research and learning! Thank you!!!!
This week we will continue...
Reading: Unit 3 Character Studies- Because of Winn-Dixie
Writing- Persuasive/Opinion Writing
Math: Fractions and Fact Fluency!
Science/SS- Mountains and Rivers & Plant and Animal Adaptations The Regions of GA
Students will be expected to master all multiplication facts 1-12's by the end of the nine weeks. This helps strengthen their knowledge of multiplication and division. It is an expectation that students LOG IN to IXL through the East Side website each night and practice multiplication fluency. Also, on my blog, there are websites for practice.
There is a purple sign off sheet in each take home folder. Please sign this each night and have students practice for at least** ten minuets a night.
-As you know, your child will be taking the Georgia Milestones End of Grade Assessment this April. This test is a chance for your child to show what they know! Below I’ve linked our Computer Lab teacher’s website that has a lot of typing resources, if you are interested! Click here for typing resources
-I will submit January’s Scholastic Book Order on Friday, January 31st. Your child got a new reading level on their report cards that came home on Friday. This is a great time to celebrate and to buy new books. This is also a good time to make sure you have on level books for Milestones practice!
