Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the Superbowl! Happy February!!!
– This week is Teacher Appreciation week, and all staff and teachers will have a luncheon on Friday, February 7th. Because of this, all students will eat sack lunches in the classroom. If students purchase a lunch on Friday, please know that it will be sack lunches and not a hot lunch. Your child may decide they would prefer to bring their lunch on that day. Thank you to the two parent volunteers that will be in our classroom Friday to cover so I am able to attend the luncheon! This is truly such a special treat for all teachers, and none of it would be possible without my amazing parents and families
-Our grade level STEM closet is running low on empty paper towel rolls. We use these frequently across the grade level for many different STEM projects. As your family uses paper towels at home, if you could please send in the empty paper towels rolls, that would be WONDERFUL! Thank you in advance! (Note: please NO toilet paper rolls.)
This week we will continue...
Reading: Unit 3 Character Studies- Because of Winn-Dixie
Writing- Persuasive/Opinion Writing
Math: Fractions and Fact Fluency!
Science/SS- Pollution and The Explorers
Students will be expected to master all multiplication facts 1-12's by the end of the nine weeks. This helps strengthen their knowledge of multiplication and division. It is an expectation that students LOG IN to IXL through the East Side website each night and practice multiplication fluency. Also, on my blog, there are websites for practice.
There is a purple sign off sheet in each take home folder. Please sign this each night and have students practice for at least** ten minuets a night.
-As you know, your child will be taking the Georgia Milestones End of Grade Assessment this April. This test is a chance for your child to show what they know! However, this year the test will be administered online. Because of this your child needs to start practicing their typing skills as much as possible! Below I’ve linked our Computer Lab teacher’s website that has a lot of typing resources, if you are interested! Click here for typing resources
