Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a nice weekend! Thank you for all of the sweet goodies, books, and gift cards during teacher appreciation week. I TRULY appreciate each and every one of you and love coming to East Side each day knowing I have 26 sweet kiddos waiting for me. Thank you for supporting me as a teacher! I can't wait to see the growth the rest of the school year!!
Please send in a box or bag to collect Valentine goodies in. It doesn't have to be super fancy. :) Please be sure each student has enough to hand out to the whole class (26 students) and that treats are nut friendly.
**This week is National School Counselor Week! The dress-up days are as follows:
Monday (10th) Hat Day!
Tuesday (11th) Role Model Day!
Wednesday (12th) Sports Day!
Thursday (13th) Fancy Day!
Friday (14th) Wear your favorite super star ES eagle t-shirt/class shirt!
**Student Council is selling and delivering candy grams on February 12th, 13th, and 14th in the cafeteria from 7:20-7:55. Candy grams are $1.00. This includes a lollipop and sweet message to someone special in the school. We ask that students know the first and last name as well as the homeroom teacher of who they are sending the candy gram to. Come out and support East Side’s Student Council in our Valentine’s Day Fundraiser!
This week we will continue...
Reading: Unit 3 Character Studies- Because of Winn-Dixie
Writing- Persuasive/Opinion Writing
Math: Measurement and Line Plots, Fraction Review, Math Fact Fluency
Science/SS- The Explorers
Students will be expected to master all multiplication facts 1-12's by the end of the nine weeks. This helps strengthen their knowledge of multiplication and division. It is an expectation that students LOG IN to IXL through the East Side website each night and practice multiplication fluency. Also, on my blog, there are websites for practice.
There is a purple sign off sheet in each take home folder. Please sign this each night and have students practice for at least** ten minuets a night.
-As you know, your child will be taking the Georgia Milestones End of Grade Assessment this April. This test is a chance for your child to show what they know! However, this year the test will be administered online. Because of this your child needs to start practicing their typing skills as much as possible! Below I’ve linked our Computer Lab teacher’s website that has a lot of typing resources, if you are interested! Click here for typing resources
