Welcome back! Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a restful and HEALTHY break! I know we had so much sickness hit right before break. Please take time to wash your child's jackets and backpacks! Wash their water bottles daily to prevent the spreading of germs. I hope everyone got to spend time with their families and friends.
This week we will be wrapping up some lose ends and starting our new units of study! We will be taking some assessments as well.

International Festival Poster Contest
Does your student love to draw? Help us by creating a promotional poster for the upcoming International Festival 2020, an annual PTA sponsored event where cultures around the world, diversity and friendship are celebrated! Using a piece of 8.5 by 11-inch paper, use crayons, colored pencils or even watercolors to create the poster! Be sure to include the event time (4-6pm), date (Saturday, January 25, 2020), location (school cafe) and the artist’s name, grade and teacher. The Poster Contest deadline is Friday, Jan. 10. Please leave posters in the box labeled ‘International Festival’ in the mailroom across from the Nurse’s office. The top 3-5 winners will win admission to the event and their names will be listed on the event program! Questions? Please email [email protected]!

The International Festival is an annual PTA sponsored event where East Side families gather together to learn cultures around the world and to celebrate diversity and friendship. This year, this fun and food filled event will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2020 (4-6pm). We are now calling for Country Representatives, the major power that has always made International Festival a great success and a wonderful tradition at East Side.
